Karan Johar’s last Bollywood directorial, celebs and cinema stars filled ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ fared decently well at the Box Office. ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ received mixed reviews from the critics and the audiences alike, as some liked the film to the hilt whereas the others could not stand the almost three-hour long drama. It breaks my heart when I read a bad review but I take the criticism positively,” says Karan Johar. The head honcho of Dharma Productions goes on to add that he not just yearns for critical acclaim but also wants commercial success. “I have bills to pay and a company to run. I want to make something different, but at the same time also make money so that I can make more films. At times, the commerce for me outweighs the art, not because I want to stock the money in my bank or to indulge in immense luxury, but to tell more stories,” adds Karan. In his about 20 years long Bollywood career, Karan Johar has been associated with over 30 Hindi cinema in the capacity of either director, or a producer or a writer. While some of his celebs and cinema stars filled Bollywood films have received rave reviews, Karan Johar has also been praised in some others in which he has acted.
