Anurag Kashyap has come out in support of Karan Johar as the celebrity fights almost a lone battle to support Pakistani artistes. Director Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is facing a lot of controversy in the wake of a political outfit threatening to ban the Bollywood film. This has happened as Pakistani terrorists killed Indian soldiers in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir. One of the cinema actors of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, Fawad Khan has even left India after the controversy erupted. As the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’-Fawad Khan-Karan Johar controversy snowballs, fellow filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is standing strongly by Karan Johar’s side. Anurag Kashyap questions the plan of action after the Pakistani celebrities are banned from India, “Karan Johar had said a very nice thing. He said that send back Fawad Khan, but what are the next steps that you will take? So after sending him back, what will be your next action?” Buzz is that the political party in question has put pressure on the filmmaker to chop off the Pakistani actor’s part from the film, following the Uri attacks by the terrorists.
After Anurag Kashyap, latest reports state that Salman Khan has intervened in this filmy war for Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Salman Khan has apparently called up Raj Thackeray, the chief of the party, and has requested him for a smooth release of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. As a mark of protest, some workers had gheraoed Karan Johar’s office in Andheri yesterday to pressurise him to meet their demands for ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ vis-à-vis Fawad Khan. Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is set to release on October 28, which is the biggest festive time, that of Diwali, in India.
