Irrfan Khan has seen the best of both worlds, having worked with aces like Steven Spielberg in Hollywood and Vishal Bhardwaj in Bollywood. Differentiating between both the industries, Irrfan says, “Hollywood is very different because that industry makes films for the world audience. In their movies the behaviour and the character build-up is more credible and detailed. Here (Bollywood) we use a subject as a launching pad for the hero, post that the subject has nothing to do with the film. Things are changing now, a few filmmakers are exploring subjects like ‘Neerja’ and ‘Udta Punjab’. But basically Indian commercial cinema doesn’t bother about exploring subjects.” Having let his versions of differences between Hollywood and Bollywood heard to all, Irrfan Khan is currently busy promoting his home production movie ‘Madaari’ and will also be seen in Hollywood film ‘Inferno’.
