Katrina Kaif, Isha Koppikar, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Vivek Oberoi were present as the Bollywood dignitaries at the Make In India event at Chowpatty when fire broke out on the stage. It is said that Bachchan just left the dais after performing when due to a spark, and later strong gusts of winds, the entire stage was gutted into flames in no time.

All the VIPs and celebrities were immediately shifted to a safe zone and the performances and the rest of the programmes at the Make It India and Maharashtra Night events were called off. Hema Malini and Prasoon Joshi too were invited and present at the event.

At around 8.30pm today, fire broke out at a cultural show during the Make In India event organised by the Maharashtra Government at Girgaum Chowpatty. Team C&C was present near the venue where over 20,000 people were present according to an estimate. It took around half an hour before it was brought under control by pressing about 20 fire tenders and 10 water tankers into service. To get things under control, “It was quick thinking on the part of the organisers,” said Vivek Oberoi.

Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan, Hema Malini, Vivek Oberoi and Prasoon Joshi, all Bollywood celebs along with approximately 4000 VIPs are safe and there is not even a single casualty reported.
