Akshay Kumar is busy churning out blockbusters in Bollywood. After ruling the Independence Day weekend at the Box Office this year with his ‘Swachh Bharat’ film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, Akki is set to release ‘PadMan’ on Republic Day of 2018. Trade buzz suggests that Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth-starrer, ‘2.0’, which was to release on January 26, 2018, is getting delayed due to heavy visual effects, while Akki is ready to book the date for his wife’s maiden home production ‘PadMan’. Sonam Kapoor, Radhika Apte and Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘PadMan’ is ready for release and may well replace ‘2.0’ at the theatres on January 26. ‘2.0’, which is a sequel to 2010 ‘Robot’, is now expected to release sometime in April 2018.

Interestingly, a similar event occurred this year’s Independence Day release as well when Akshay replaced his one film with another, ‘Toilet’, of his own. Initially, Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Crack’ was to hit the screens on August 11, taking over the long patriotic weekend. But since the makers of ‘Crack’ felt that the deadline was difficult to catch, Akshay’s another film, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, took up the slot. For 2018 too, Akshay has booked the Independence Day for his sports drama ‘Gold’.
