While Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ has grossed over Rs 1,500 crore worldwide, Salman Khan is planning to follow his footsteps and earn huge monies with his upcoming Bollywood release ‘Tubelight’. For ‘Dangal’, Aamir had decided that there would be no price drop on the tickets for the first entire week, including on weekdays, which is not the usual practice. Ticket prices are generally lowered on the following Monday immediately after the release, and stay on the lower side for the weekdays during odd-hour shows because of less occupancy. Not offering movie tickets at a lower price resulted in big opening figures for Aamir’s ‘Dangal’. Salman Khan, who is producing ‘Tubelight’ apart from acting in it, had a meeting with some of the film’s distributors to chalk out a similar plan to increase the profits for the film. It has been decided that the opening weekend and the first whole week will have one fixed ticket rate for all the shows of ‘Tubelight’, giving a major push to the film’s Box Office collections. ‘Tubelight’ is directed by Kabir Khan and stars Salman, Sohail Khan and Chinese actress Zhu Zhu. The film is set to release during Eid 2017. Amar Butala, COO, Salman Khan Films and also the co-producer of ‘Tubelight’, remained unavailable for the comment.
