Alia Bhatt once donned a Kashmiri avatar for Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Highway’ back in 2014. However, latest buzz suggests that the Bollywood actress is all set to play a Kashmiri wife in a war thriller. According to trade buzz, Dharma Productions and Junglee Pictures have joined hands to produce a film on a Kashmiri woman, married to an army officer, who plays a spy for an Indian intelligence agency from across the border during the testing times of the 1971 Indo-Pak war. While Alia Bhatt may be made a party to this spy thriller, it remains to be seen as to who will step into the role of the army officer. The untitled project will be directed by Meghna Gulzar and will apparently be based on Harinder Sikka’s book titled ‘Calling Sehmat’. The team is planning to start shooting in a couple of months.
