Ekta Kapoor is backing the successful duo of ‘Citylights’, Hansal Mehta and Rajkummar Rao, for a very promising web series. Directed by Hansal Mehta, a biopic on Subhash Chandra Bose will be shot as web series, with Rajkummar Rao playing the late freedom fighter. Giving an insight, Hansal Mehta reveals, “The biopic is not a stale and boring biography. It is the unveiling of India’s biggest cover-ups. It is a fast-paced, gripping tale of a man whose trajectory is one of the most fascinating story ever. The web series is structured like a thriller, so while one will learn about his life, it will also move you to the edge of the seat. Our intention is to portray Subhash Chandra Bose as a contemporary hero, a rebel who worked in different ways, thereby making him relevant and a part of today’s youth.” This web series will be showcased on Ekta Kapoor’s new digital venture, ALTBalaji.
