Spelling a disaster at the Box Office, ‘Rangoon’ managed to collect only Rs 16.96 crores in the first five days of release despite having powerful celebs and cinema stars backing the Bollywood film
Celebs and cinema stars Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut-featured ‘Rangoon’ seems to have fallen flat at the Bollywood Box Office. On the first day of its release, ‘Rangoon’ collected Rs 5 crore at the ticket windows while in the five days of its release the film has managed to garner only Rs 16.96 crore. Despite an impressive cast and a bankable director like Vishal Bhaadwaj, trade buzz suggests that ‘Rangoon’ will continue with slow collections and may end its first week with a meagre Rs 19 crore, spelling doomsday at the Box Office. While on the one hand ‘Rangoon’ is a disaster, on the other, Akshay Kumar’s courtroom drama ‘Jolly LLB 2’ is on its way to glory, having entered the Rs 100 crore club with a collection of Rs 103 crores in the 18 days of its release. ‘Rangoon’ released on February 24, a day before Shahid Kapoor’s birthday.
