In the day and age when film publicity is of utmost importance, filmmaker Karan Johar seems to be not favouring it much. He says, “When I was the director in the 90s, there was no such thing as promotions. There was the trailer and the music.” Criticising the way films are now publicised, KJo adds, “Now we have to promote everything, even opening an envelope. We are reaching almost everywhere to sell our films. It feels like we are begging everyone to come and watch our film. It is less marketing and more of begging.”
