Anushka Sharma introduced a new face, Anya Singh, in Bollywood yesterday, who will be launched by Yash Raj Films (YRF) in the entertainment industry. Remembering her own entry in Bollywood with YRF’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, Anushka says, “Yash Raj Films is paramount, Aditya Chopra believed in me and in my talent. They have always backed talent before legacy, connections and perceptions.” Anushka’s statement seems to stem from the fact that just a while ago, Kangana Ranaut started a war of words on nepotism in the industry. While Kangana stated that star kids get an easy way to the movies, Anushka reminisced her own Bollywood break which happened without any connections, “I didn’t know anyone from the film industry. I had no connections. I auditioned to get my first break. Because I didn’t have any legacy to live up to or any sense of familiarity of how cinema works, it gave me a sense of determination and added to my journey in films. I choose acting on the basis of sheer instinct.” After almost a decade in Bollywood, there has been no looking back for this beauty.

And while Anushka Sharma has gone on to produce her own films post debuting in 2008, Anya on the other hand has been signed up for a three-film deal by Yash Raj Films to begin her career.
