‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ and ‘Munna Michael’, two starkly different films hit the screens last Friday. While the latter is struggling at the Box Office, the former, a low budget film, is sailing through. ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ has been through a lot of controversies with the Censor Board, but is managing well at the Box Office. The film was made at a budget of Rs 6 crore and released in mere 400 screens across the country. It still managed to collect Rs 5.20 crore in its opening weekend. The multi-starrer received average footfalls and is on its way to recovering its budget and making a decent profit for its makers.
While ‘Lipstick’ is doing well at the Box Office, ‘Munna Michael’ on the other hand released on 3,000 screens across India and raked in an opening figure of Rs 6.62 crore, much lesser than expected. The film went on to collect a total of Rs 21.12 crore in three days. Tiger Shroff and Nawazuddin-starrer will definitely have to work hard through the weekend to recover its budget of Rs 45 crore.
