John Abraham’s patriotic film, ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’, released last Friday. But going by its box office numbers, the film seems to have suffered because of the cricketing tournament Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2018. With IPL semi-finals and finals looming large over the weekend, ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’ collected Rs 4.82 crore on Friday, 7.64 crore on Saturday and another Rs 8.32 crore on Sunday. Having released on 1,935 screens, ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’ managed to mint Rs 20.78 crore by its opening weekend. Trade opines that the number could have been much higher, had the film not clashed with the popular cricketing tournament.
