Fawad Khan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gustakhiyan?

After bagging the coveted national honour for his last Bollywood release ‘Bajirao Mastani’, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has set his eyes on a hard-hitting biopic, on noted poet Sahir Ludhianvi. Titled ‘Gustakhiyan’, the celebrity filmmaker was said to have roped in Irrfan Khan for this project which he will only produce this time around and not direct. However, buzz was that a busy Irrfan Khan could not spare dates for this magnum opus, leaving Sanjay Leela Bhansali high and dry, and searching for an ace actor to play the celebrated poet-cum-lyricist on the silver screen.

Now if rumours are to be believed again then ‘Khoobsurat’ actor Fawad Khan has been approached to be a part of the Sahir Ludhianvi biopic ‘Gustakhiyan’. While it is not clear if the actor has been asked to play the main character of Sahir Ludhianvi or is told to feature in a supportive role, Fawad Khan is said to bring the character to life if he bags this Bollywood biopic.

Fawad Khan is currently basking in the glory of Dharma Productions’ last Bollywood flick ‘Kapoor & Sons’. The actor from across the border has become a Bollywood heartthrob and just when we thought that this Pakistani hero didn’t have many movies in his kitty, the news of Fawad Khan bagging a biggie in the form is Sahir Ludhianvi’s biopic ‘Gustakhiyan’ hits the marquee!
