Farhan Akhtar has deleted his official account on social networking site Facebook, for which he announced on Twitter today, “This is to inform you all that I have permanently deleted my personal Facebook account.” Farhan’s decision to delete his personal account on Facebook comes soon after the major data breach on the social networking site. FB has been in the news for all the wrong reasons of late as reports allege that personal data of almost 50 million people has been compromised. While Farhan has removed his personal account in the wake of security and privacy breach, his verified page, FarhanAkhtarLive, continues to be active.
It must be noted here that billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk also deleted the Facebook pages of SapceX, Tesla and his own official account recently, stating, “I just don’t like Facebook. It gives me the willies. Sorry.” Farhan Akhtar is another celebrity to follow the suit and will not be seen on Facebook, at least for now.
