After playing a sperm donor in his debut movie ‘Vicky Donor’, Ayushmann Khurrana will portray a character who suffers from erectile dysfunction in his next, ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’. Speaking about his choice for quirky roles, Ayushmann says, “I will be sceptical if I choose any conventional subject. I am meant for unconventional films; you have to carve your own niche in this industry. These kinds of films work for me, be it ‘Vicky Donor’, ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ or ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’. This is a very quirky subject, an antithesis of ‘Vicky Donor’.” The actor will once again romance his ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ co-star Bhumi Pednekar in this flick.

At the trailer launch of ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’, Ayushmann went on to reveal a message from the film. “Cinema mirrors the society and we have shown a problem in in ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ without making fun of it. There is a message in this film which says manliness is not just about that, it is about being chivalrous and polite.” The film is slated to release in September.
