Amitabh Bachchan has now become the first choice as the Incredible India brand ambassador by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
Aamir Khan’s contract as the brand ambassador of Incredible India aka Atulya Bharat has come to an end and has not been renewed either. Hence there was a dire need to get that celebrity on board who could make the impact across the entire spectrum of age, cast and creed on global platform. Reports suggest that looking at the current scenario, there could be nobody else to fill in this void than Amitabh Bachchan, who has his magical spell on everyone, and hence the name was suggested directly by the Prime Minister Office (PMO).
While no official confirmation comes from the Ministry of Tourism, Amitabh Bachchan definitely seems to be the top contender as the national mascot to greet people with Atithi Devo Bhava. According to news agency PTI, Big B was quoted saying that he has not been formally approached yet, but would be happy to take up the opportunity. Coincidentally, now Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Chief Minster of Gujarat when Sr Bachchan became the brand ambassador of Gujarat tourism. And with elevation of the politician as the PM, Bachchan too is being considered to play a larger role as the Indian ambassador for tourism.
Amongst all the confusion, there are several other Bollywood names speculated to represent the Incredible India campaign. Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are the other top contenders for this elite job apart from Amitabh Bachchan.
