Akshay Kumar has joined the team of ‘Gold’ in London, and popular TV actress Mouni Roy too is set to face the camera for her big Bollywood debut. ‘Naagin’ TV show’s celebrity actress and Akshay were snapped on the sets of this period Bollywood film, donning a retro look. ‘Gold’ is inspired from the celebrated hockey player Balbir Singh, who led the Indian team in the three consecutive Olympics – 1948, 1952 and 1956. Directed by Reema Kagti, Akshay will play the lead in this sports-based drama, which will bring to the silver screen India’s maiden Gold victory at 1948 London Olympics. Akshay and Mouni are joined by Kunal Kapoor and Amit Sadh in ‘Gold’, which is slated to release on Independence Day 2018.
